Joel Graber Meets with New York State Senate Minority Leader Dean Skelos to discuss pending legislation affecting the process service industry.
On August 9, 2010, members of the New York State Professional Process Servers Association met with New York State Senate Minority Leader Dean Skelos to discuss Senate Bill S 7265. This bill was submitted by Senator Schneiderman to amend the general business law and civil practice law and rules in relation to process servers.
The purpose of the bill is to protect parties from litigation from irresponsible and at times, illegal service of process and maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism in the third party process server industry by requiring process servers to be licensed by the Department of State.
